Von der Idee zum Projekt: Dieses Seminar richtet sich an Personen aller Fachgebiete und Stufen, die ihre künstlerrisch-gestalterischen und formalen Fähigkeiten in der praxisnahen Projektumsetzung vertiefen und gleichzeitig Einblicke in die dynamische Berliner Kulturlandschaft gewinnen möchten. Neben der beruflichen Orientierung geht es darum, eine eigene künstlerische, oft auch aktivistische Position zu entwickeln und diese in einen größeren kulturellen, sozialen und politischen Kontext zu stellen.

Während des Seminars findet alle zwei Wochen individuelles Mentoring statt, um die eigene Vision kennenzulernen. Mithilfe des individuellen Projektfahrplans entwickeln Teilnehmende ein künstlerisches Projekt – spekulativ oder konkret – an den Schnittstellen von Konzept, Recherche, Medium und Kuration, Kulturmanagement und projektbezogene wie auch ganz persönliche Ressourcen, Raum und Präsentation. Ergänzt wird das Angebot durch die Möglichkeit der Arbeit mit experimenteller Performance zur Erweiterung der Perspektive mit Sophia New.

Wen möchte ich mit meinem Projekt erreichen? Gemeinsam entwickeln wir eine community-basierte Vermittlungsstrategie. Diese Auseinandersetzung ermöglicht es auch, Wissenskategorien, Gestaltungsmittel und vor allem die persönliche Haltung kritisch zu hinterfragen und neue Perspektiven in die eigene Arbeit zu integrieren.

* Wir arbeiten online und in den Ausstellungsräumen der neuen Gesellschaft für bildende Kunst (nGbK) am Alex.

This module is open to people from all disciplines who are interested in expanding their artistic and design skills through the practical development of projects and at the same time gaining insights into Berlin's dynamic cultural landscape. Along with professional guidance, the aim is to develop one's own artistic, and activist position and to situate this in a larger cultural and social context whilst considering the political societal issues at stake - as well as potentially working with performance and audiences.

During the seminar, one-to-one mentoring takes place every two weeks in order to explore your vision. Using the individual project plan, participants develop an artistic project - speculative or concrete - at the intersections of concept and research, medium and curation, cultural management and resources, space and (rep-)presentation.

Who do I want to reach with my project? Together we will develop a community-based mediation strategy. This process also allows us to question categories of knowledge, discourse, design and personal attitudes to integrate new perspectives into our own work and artistic practice.

* We will work online and at the neue Gesellschaft für bildende Kunst at Alexanderplatz (nGbK).

* Material costs are possible for a specific project presentation during the planned block seminar.

Can Mileva Rastovic works as a curator and art mediator at the intersection of anti-discrimination and community work. She has studied architecture and cultural management and lives in Berlin. Can collaborates with numerous artists, activist collectives, and cultural practitioners and brings hands-on experience to the conception and implementation of artistic projects, with insights into institutional processes through collaborations with, among others, the Neue Gesellschaft für bildende Kunst (nGbK), Kyiv Biennale, Impulse Theater Festival, Depo Istanbul, Fond Soziokultur, the Neukölln District Office’s Department of Culture, and the German Institute for Film and Television.

Sophia New is a British German performer, artist and pedagogue. She studied philosophy Literature and has an MA in Feminist Performance and completed her PhD at Exeter University. She works with Daniel Belasco Rogers as plan b, creating over 40 projects with an ongoing practice of recording everywhere they go with a GPS which has lead to exhibitions at HKW, a touring UK show ´Walk On from Richard Long to Janet Cardiff, and group shows such as ´Networking the Unseen exhibition in Esslingen and The Infinite Body. She taught for 10 years at the University of the Arts Berlin on the MA SODA and as Guest Professor at Studium Generale. She was the course leader of two new MA in Performance at the university of the Arts London and currently works on the MA Performing Arts as Critical Practice at the Malmö Theatre Academy.
