Using Grasshopper and the plugin TOOLPATHS (by Konrad Jünger), we will generate and simulate our own machine codes — going beyond the standard slicer to explore variable layer heights, non-planar paths, custom infill, and per-segment control of speed, flow, and extrusion.
In two compact weekend sessions we will apply these techniques to ceramic 3D printing (Lutum) and FDM, followed by a final presentation.
*This course requires prior knowledge of Grasshopper. (If you're beginner, I'm happy to provide basic tutorials)
