Schokolade Stop Motion
Christmas project week in Heinz Brandt Schule 2024, a special occasion as Rirkrit Tiravanija's exhibition was open during that time in Gropius Bau. I asked Gropius Bau if we could use the silkscreen workshop station for our workshop and the kids could make their own design. Unfortunately it was not allowed, so we came as visitor and stuck to the concept of chocolate for Christmas
I asked the students after the workshop, what comes to their mind when hearing the word „museum“, what was different about Rirkrit's exhibition for them. Nele texted me:
„Wenn ich an das Wort Museum höre denke ich daran wie ganz viele Gemälde mit Gold- braunem rahmen in einer Reihe hängen auf den Bilder sind schöne Grüne Landschaften zusehen. Gleichzeitig denke ich auch an ein interaktives Museum wo ich lieber hingehe und ich denke interaktive Museen bereiten Kindern mehr Freude als einfache Bilder die in einem Raum hängen. Die Ausstellung von Tiravanija war anders. Sie war interaktiv und die Band war schön es hat mich immer wieder erneut überrascht was im nächsten Raum war besonders das man sich ein T-Shirt bedrucken konnte, Tischtennis spielen konnte und Suppe essen durfte war sehr besonders oder das man Tee trinken konnte und Musik spielen durfte. Wenn ich das Wort Museum höre habe ich gemischte Gefühle einmal weil ich Museen sehr interessant finde aber Gleichzeitig schon so viel in der Schule lerne das ich daran gewöhnt bin alle Informationen die ich sehe sofort mir merken zu müssen und sie auswendig zu lernen zu müssen. Das ist anstrengend und manchmal verstehe ich nicht ganz den Sinn hinter einem Bild.“
One memorable student in the course asked me a lot about what was my favorite food, tried to guess how old I was, looked at me and smile, when i was looking at him to try to remember what their name was. The kid also said it was ok when i forgot to 3D print his figure for Stop Motion and later still asked me what I thought of his stop motion. A nice kid with playful character. I am more curious now when looking at their drawing.
Their chocolate drawing is interesting, easily breakable due to the neck having one single line. In the market, I liked their design so much and decided to buy one „any Rabatt for me?” And they charged me less, but still gave me a free extra chocolate.
