In this project, we wanted to develop what we had worked on in the previous weeks (Project 2, Soft Sensors vs Hard Sensors) and create a garment that mixes these two types of sensors. The part of the garment that represents „soft sensors“ is a corset, made with two mixed techniques, i.e. knitting and weaving with (the help of a knitting board) composed of two materials: conductive wool (Bekinox W12/18) and a thick thread of fabric. For the hard sensor we used a lycra base with a strip of eeonyx stretchy variable resistance sensor fabric. The inspiration for this design comes from the courtship dances of birds in general, the movement of the breast makes it pronounced and almost exaggerated, as well as the color of the wings for example, with great contrast to the general color of the body.
