SprechenÜber is pleased to welcome Christian Smirnow, a graduate of the KHB's BA and MA Textile and Surface Design program.
Christian Smirnow is a design strategist focusing on social innovation and sustainability. He currently works as a Program Manager and Lead Lecturer at the HPI School of Design Thinking in Potsdam. He has previously worked as a creative consultant at Mandalah Berlin, and formerly taught “Innovation” at Parsons School of Design in New York City.
He received both BA and MA in Textile Design at weißensee School of Art Berlin, as well as the MFA in Transdisciplinary Design from Parsons School of Design in New York City with his thesis project “Pathways to Gender Identity: An Engagement Framework for Gender
Inclusivity in Educational Institutions.” Throughout his academic career, Christian received several titles and recognitions, including the German Fulbright Scholarship, the DMY New Talent recognition, the John L. Tishman Scholarship for Sustainability, and the Parsons DESIS Design Fellowship.
